In much the same way that Kevin Kolb took over the Cardinals starting quarterback job in Week 1, John Skelton is back as the Cardinals quarterback when Kolb was injured with 2:05 to play vs. the Bills when he got crushed by Buffalo defensive lineman Alex Carrington and Chris Kelsay.
At the time of Kolb's injury the Cardinals were behind 16-13. and it brought back memories from Week 1 when Skelton suffered an injured ankle losing 16-13 in the fourth quarter. Kolb entered that game and led the Cardinals on an 80-yard touchdown drive to win it, and based on that and his subsequent performances, Kolb basically early himself the starting quarterback job that he had lost in training camp.
Though the team brought out a cart for Kolb on Sunday, he walked off the field under his own power.
With Skelton replacing Kolb, the Cardinals converted a fourth-and-11, but they had trouble moving the ball. With 1:14 to play, Jay Feely nailed a 61-yard field goal to tie the game.
