Lions guard Rob Sims is hoping to return to Detroit for a sixth season after being traded to the team in 2010.

"The 10 years previous of me being here there had been 16 other guards," Sims said shortly after the season ended for Detroit. "That’s enough. Me holding it down for five years, I’m proud of that."

The 31-year-old veteran is proud to call Detroit home.

"This is our home," Sims said. "My children were born here. Me and my wife have built our family here and bought businesses here. Detroit is never ever going to leave me. My heart and my charity work will always be here. But yeah, I would love to stay here, love to."

Sims is set to become an unrestricted free agent in March.
