Lions vs. Saints Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Sunday's NFL game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Lions vs. Saints football game
Game Recap
The Detroit Lions weren't able to make up for their defeat to the New Orleans Saints from their previous meeting earlier this month. The Lions were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap Sunday as they fell 35-29 to New Orleans.
RB Latavius Murray and RB Alvin Kamara were among the main playmakers for New Orleans as the former punched in two rushing touchdowns and the latter punched in one rushing touchdown. That's the most rushing touchdowns Murray has had all year. WR Tre'Quan Smith also deserves a shout-out for his two TDs.
Detroit's loss came about despite a quality game from QB Matthew Stafford, who passed for three TDs and 206 yards on 31 attempts.
The loss dropped the Lions' record to 1-2. The win improved the Saints' record to an identical 1-2.
Detroit can take some time to mend their wounds since their next matchup isn't for a while. They will face the Jacksonville Jaguars at TIAA Bank Field at 1 p.m. ET in two weeks. New Orleans will take on the Los Angeles Chargers at 8:15 p.m. ET next week at home. Unlike New Orleans, Los Angeles will be stumbling in off of a loss.
