NFL Free Agency 2020: Live updates, latest rumors and signings across the league

Welcome to Day 3 of the new league year! It didn't take long Friday before we saw fireworks, as the Atlanta Falcons have added Todd Gurley a day after he was released by the Rams. Gurley returns to Georgia, where he rushed for 3,285 yards and 36 touchdowns in three college seasons.

The Falcons added Gurley to an offense that has Matt Ryan at quarterback, Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley at wide receiver, and Hayden Hurst at tight end. Four of those players mentioned are first-round picks, making Atlanta's offense one of the most talented in the NFL.

In case Gurley wasn't enough to get your Friday going, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers officially announced the signing of Tom Brady as their next quarterback.

It's truly a wild time in the league and there's still a few more big names left to be signed. Where will Jameis Winston land? What about Jadeveon Clowney?

There's still plenty of fireworks remaining in free agency, but don't worry. CBS Sports will help you run through all the hysteria and keep you informed on all the latest action in the NFL:

With the acquisition of Gerald McCoy, the Cowboys not only replace/upgrade the 3-tech over Maliek Collins -- who will head to the Raiders -- but also provides a bit of a replacement for the loss of Robert Quinn. McCoy can produce from both the 3-tech as well as 5-tech, but also 1-tech as needed. It's a massive FA grab for just over $6M per year over three years.

They'll continue working to bolster the defensive line, but also have eyes on Desmond Trufant or Chris Harris, Jr. as a replacement for Byron Jones. Much work to be done, but they're rebounding fairly well from an early run on their in-house FAs by other teams. And if they can get something done with Emmanuel Sanders, the loss of Randall Cobb will be wholly inconsequential.

Leonard Floyd is heading to the Rams on a one-year, $10 million deal worth up to $13 million per Adam Schefter. Rams didn't wait long to find a replacement for Fowler.

So interesting that the Chargers are going to move forward with Tyrod Taylor. This was reported last month, but I'm not sure many people put much stock into it. Taylor isn't a bad option, but I wonder if Chargers fans like that move more than making a play for Cam Newton, Jameis Winston or even taking a signal caller in the draft.

With their decisions to move on from Vic Beasley, Austin Hooper and cut Trufant, the Falcons positioned themselves to make one big free agent splash and they did so by signing Fowler who had his best season on a per-snap basis with the Rams last year. The former first-round pick has upside, but there should probably be some buyer beware attached to the fact that he broke out as a pass rusher on a defensive front that includes Aaron Donald taking away the attention of multiple OL on every snap.

Looks like the Fowler deal will be three years and $48 million.

The Falcons were a prime edge-rush spot in mock drafts at 16, but it's become more and more likely K'Lavon Chaisson won't be there when they get on the clock. And with no other prospects worth taking at 16, it certainly makes sense to add to the position in FA and plan on going elsewhere at 16 (cornerback?)
