NFL Free Agency 2020: Live updates, latest rumors and signings across the league

Welcome to Day 3 of the new league year! It didn't take long Friday before we saw fireworks, as the Atlanta Falcons have added Todd Gurley a day after he was released by the Rams. Gurley returns to Georgia, where he rushed for 3,285 yards and 36 touchdowns in three college seasons.

The Falcons added Gurley to an offense that has Matt Ryan at quarterback, Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley at wide receiver, and Hayden Hurst at tight end. Four of those players mentioned are first-round picks, making Atlanta's offense one of the most talented in the NFL.

In case Gurley wasn't enough to get your Friday going, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers officially announced the signing of Tom Brady as their next quarterback.

It's truly a wild time in the league and there's still a few more big names left to be signed. Where will Jameis Winston land? What about Jadeveon Clowney?

There's still plenty of fireworks remaining in free agency, but don't worry. CBS Sports will help you run through all the hysteria and keep you informed on all the latest action in the NFL:

Todd Gurley to Pittsburgh makes a lot more sense than the Jameis Winston things I started seeing on social media earlier today. Gurley is now on a pitch count, which is fine if he's paired with backs like James Conner and Benny Snell. If he passes a physical, and is (and undoubtedly will be) willing to come down on his contract requests, I could see that happening. The Steelers reportedly looked into trading for L Bell when the Jets were considering trading him, so I don't see why they wouldn't look into taking Gurley now.

The Falcons have very loosely been linked to both Todd Gurley and Melvin Gordon, and on paper, it makes sense that they would want to find a replacement for RB Devonta Freeman, but it's more likely they address the position via the draft. Atlanta should want to get cheaper and younger at RB. That means targeting an RB in the 2020 NFL Draft class on Day 2 who they can start right away (see: Dalvin Cook) and only have to allocate around $1-2M per year against the cap to said RB. Despite recent cuts and allowing Austin Hooper to walk, Atlanta remains strapped against the cap.

The Rams have released Todd Gurley, but don't think they got away scot-free. They will take on a major dead salary cap hit by releasing him after investing so much guaranteed money that was converted into future cap. This is a cautionary tale for teams like the Giants and Vikings (Saquon Barkley and Dalvin Cook). The Cowboys, who made the decision to make Ezekiel Elliott the highest-paid RB after Gurley's deal, could soon face a similar situation to the Rams.

Todd Gurley and Melvin Gordon. Which back would Brady rather have with him in Tampa. Gurley's health is an issue, but he's a better receiver.
