It looks like the Jets' kicking competition has come to a close with Nick Folk winning the job. Monday morning, following the Jets' 17-12 loss to the Panthers, K Josh Brown, who had been competing with Folk, posted on his Twitter account: "Best of luck to the 2012 Jets... Thanks for one of the most memorable camps in 10 yrs. GREAT GROUP OF GUYS!!"
Brown and Folk had been neck and neck through most of training camp and the preseason, but Folk pulled away in recent days. Then, against the Panthers, Brown had the first miss of a game kick by either player when he sent a 45-yarder wide left.
The Jets have four more players to release to reach the 75-man roster by 4 p.m.
