If you thought Odell Beckham Jr. reserved his vitriol for only Josh Norman, you have greatly underestimated Beckham's power to annoy via various social media platforms. Weeks after the Giants wide receiver got into it on Twitter with the Panthers cornerback, Beckham has readjusted his sights to Bills cornerback Stephon Gilmore.
To be fair, Beckham's Instagram seems to be more about his play-making abilities and less about the fact that Gilmore happened to be in coverage on that play -- hence the "It ain't a moment till u make it..." tagline -- but we live in an age where no slight, however imperceptible or unintended -- can go without a rebuttal. Cue Gilmore:
And there's more (because there's always more). And, yes, the following posts have been deleted (because they're always posts to be deleted):
The game in question is from last October. The Giants won, but Beckham was held to just five catches for 38 yards, and Gilmore picked off Eli Manning in the end zone. On the return, Beckham was lit up by Bills safety Duke Williams. Beckham then appeared to throw a punch at Williams.
"I don't know what's up with him," Gilmore said at the time, per Tyler Dunne of The Buffalo News. "He acts like nobody's supposed to hit him and you're supposed to let him catch the ball. He's weird. He gets mad when you play physical with him. He's weird.
"He's different. It's kind of like you're playing your little brother and he gets mad at you for being too physical with him -- throwing a tantrum. I'm like, 'Man, we're playing football. It's a physical game. ... He's a prima donna. He feels like he's on top of the world and nobody's supposed to do anything to him."
Six months later and Gilmore's opinion appears unchanged.
