Bilukidi saved $428, so there's that. (Getty Images) |
Bilukidi took to Twitter to announce his good fortune (of course he did) before later deleting the tweet because, you know, police departments typically look down on officers enforcing the law with preferential treatment as a guiding principle.
Bilukidi's offending tweet: "Ran a red light n got pulled over, cop ask me what I do n I said I'm a Raider, I dodged a 428$ ticket. #BigLeague."
You know the opposite of "#BigLeague"? Calling yourself "Big League" because you avoided a $428 traffic ticket. And then tweeting about it.
Whatever, we're sure Bilukidi has learned a valuable lesson, as, presumably, has the officer who let him off the hook. In 2010, a Baltimore police officer got an autograph from Ravens running back Ray Rice after issuing a verbal warning (but no ticket) for tinted windows that were too dark. Rice tweeted the news and the officer predictably came under scrutiny (although he avoided discipline).
Bilukidi, a 6-5, 311-pound defensive lineman from Georgia State, was a sixth-round pick of the Raiders in April's NFL Draft. The team signed him last Thursday, and although the terms weren't disclosed, we're guessing it was #BigLeague.
