The Packers signed free-agent quarterback Matt Blanchard on Wednesday, as the former University of Wisconisn-Whitewater standout will get a chance to serve as the team's No. 3 signal-caller, per ESPN.
Blanchard was on the practice squads of the Bears and Panthers in 2012-13 and spent all of last year on the Panthers' injured reserve list after suffering a concussion during a preseason game.
Blanchard worked out for the Packers and coach Mike McCarthy last week. Green Bay has not re-signed No. 2 quarterback Matt Flynn.
