Tuesday's chaotic deadline day included a trade involving a punter. That punter was Corey Bojorquez, who was traded from the Rams to the Packers, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. The Packers, who sent the Rams a 2023 sixth-round pick, also received a 2023 seventh-round pick.
The soon-to-be 25-year-old spent his first three NFL seasons in Buffalo. During that time, Bojorquez averaged 45 yards per punt. Last season, he led the NFL with an average of 50.8 yards per punt. Bojorquez's 74-yard punt during Buffalo's Week 5 loss to the Titans was the NFL's longest during the 2020 season.
Bojorquez spent the past four-plus months with the Rams after signing with Los Angeles on April 20. He was unable to beat out Johnny Hekker, a four-time Pro Bowler who averaged 45.6 yards per punt last season. Conversely, it appears that the Packers are moving on from JK Scott, the team's starting punter since 2018. Scott averaged 45.5 yards per punt last season, a 1.5-yard improvement from the previous season.
The trade came during the NFL's cutdown day, as each team had to get their roster down to 53 players before the 4 p.m. deadline.
