Packers tight end Kennard Backman suited up in Week 4 for the first time in his professional career but took the field for just three offensive snaps.
After being scratched in the Packers' first three games, Backman was activated Sunday with Andrew Quarless (knee) unable to play. He was the only active tight end besides Richard Rodgers, but the Packers replaced Quarless' snaps in other ways. Backman will presumably be the Packers' No. 2 tight end for a while with Quarless on short-term IR, but he still has quite a way to go before becoming a fantasy factor.
