The Panthers decided not to re-sign free-agent cornerback James Dockery.
Pending a physical, Dockery will sign with the Raiders, according to a report by ESPN's David Newton.
Dockery posted a message to his former team and city on his Instagram account. "Now that I'm officially taking my career to a new city," Dockery wrote. "Before I sign that dotted line I just want to thank the City of Charlotte, Panthers Organization, and all my former Panther teammates. It's truly been an amazing opportunity to play for the City and Team. I'll never forget the opportunity Carolina gave me to prove I belong in this league. I truly made some great friends, some that I believe will last forever. I'll always remember to #KeepPounding in both life and football. Thank you for everything! #Trey1"
Dockery had 11 tackles in seven games for the Panthers last year.
