The Patriots were back on the practice field for a light session Sunday night, and the passing offense continued its slump. There were six drops and four interceptions total in practice, and both were practice highs. QB Tom Brady looked like he wanted to hurt someone.
Not sharp: In 7-on-7 or 11-on-11 periods, Brady was 18 of 28 with an INT, and Brian Hoyer was 5 of 10 with two INTs. Usually, the top two QBs complete about 80 percent of their passes.
Drop it like it's hot: The receivers with drops were Aaron Hernandez, Brandon Lloyd, Stevan Ridley, Wes Welker, Deion Branch and Donte Stallworth.
Rookie coming on: LB Dont'a Hightower had two INTs. One was off a drop by Ridley, the other was a sensational read of Hoyer. Hightower went high into the air to snare the seam pass for Jabar Gaffney.
Attendance: LG Logan Mankins wasn't the only veteran back in uniform. WR Deion Branch, LB Bradon Spikes and DT Ron Brace also returned to the lineup. There were several new injuries from the game: TE Rob Gronkowski (unknown), WR Britt Davis (shoulder), FB Eric Kettani (right leg), CB Malcolm Williams (unknown), S James Ihedigbo (unknown), LB Dane Fletcher (left knee), DT Gerard Warren (unknown). Whatever Gronkowski is dealing with didn't appear serious. He worked with the rehab group.
