Less than a month after signing linebacker Brandon Spikes, the Patriots released the veteran after questions emerged about his involvement in a hit-and-run incident, per NFL.com.
Early Sunday morning, Spikes' Mercedes Maybach was found on a highway near Foxborough with no driver present. Later, police responded to another vehicle saying they were rear-ended by a vehicle matching the Maybach, which was registered to Spikes. No charges have yet been filed in the incident.
Spikes played for the Patriots from 2010-13 and was with the Bills last season.
