The Raiders continued juggling their 53-man roster Tuesday, signing former Packers LB Vic So’oto and waiving LB Carl Ihenacho.
Green Bay signed So’oto, a second cousin of the late Junior Seau, last year as an undrafted rookie from BYU. He played seven games for the Packers, recording seven tackles and one sack. He also had three special teams tackles.
New Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie worked for the Packers last year when they signed So’oto. McKenzie seems intent on looking for former Packers to add to the roster. Last week the Raiders signed CB Brandian Ross off the Packers’ practice squad.
So’oto was placed on injured reserve on Aug. 31 with an ankle injury. But he reached an injury settlement with Green Bay and was waived-injured Sept. 10, making him a free agent.
Ihenacho, a first-year player from San Jose State, appeared in three games but only had one tackle.
In another move, the Raiders waived DT Vaughn Meatoga from the practice squad for the second time.
