Raiders starting running backs Darren McFadden and backup Mike Goodson suffered high-ankle sprains Sunday against Tampa Bay but haven't been ruled out for this week's game at Baltimore, coach Dennis Allen said Monday.

According to Allen, X-rays and an MRI on McFadden's ankle were negative.

"We'll see how he responds this week," Allen said. "We haven't ruled him out for this weekends' game. (Goodson) was at the doctor getting an MRI right now, and I would anticipate he's in the same boat."

Allen had some positive news on defensive tackle Desmond Bryant, who didn't play in the second half Sunday because of a "fast, irregular heart beat" and spent the night at Eden Medical Center. Allen said Bryant was released from the hospital Monday and was "back home with a normal heartbeat."

Bryant, though, will not practice on Wednesday, Allen said.

"There are couple of things he has to do. He has not been ruled out for this weekend. We'll see where we're at after Wednesday to see if he's able to go Thursday or Friday," Allen said.

McFadden, according to Allen, was injured on his first or second carry but felt good enough to continue playing. He finished with seven carries for 17 yards. His final carry came with just under 10 minutes left in the first half.

"Darren wanted to be back out there, so that wasn't a case where you risk any further injury," Allen said of keeping him in the game after his initial injury. "Darren is a competitor. He wanted to be back out there, so we put him back out there. Then (we) came in at halftime. He just wasn't going to be able to do it, so we kept him out the rest of the game."

McFadden missed nine games last year with a foot injury and has never played more than 13 games in a season.

Despite injuries to McFadden and Goodson, third-string running  back Taiwan Jones took only a handful of offensive snaps and carried just once for 2 yards. Allen acknowledged that Jones still has an issue with ball security.

Allen also said signing another running back this week is "certainly a possibility."
