The Raiders weren't at their best Sunday, but they were more than good enough to beat the reeling Kansas City Chiefs 26-16 and extend their winning streak at Arrowhead Stadium to six games. They won their second straight game this season, improved to 3-4 and pulled into a second-place tie with San Diego in the AFC West, one game behind Denver. Not bad for a team that started 1-4 and appeared more likely to compete for the top pick in the NFL draft than for a berth in the postseason.

Offense: C+

There were plenty of positives from Sunday's win but too many negatives for a higher grade. RB Darren McFadden rushed for 114 yards. QB Carson Palmer threw for 209 yards and two TDs and wasn't sacked, thanks to a solid effort by the O-line. WR Denarius Moore caught five passes for 95 yards and a score. On the flip side, the Raiders went 1 for 6 in the red zone (one trip ended in a kneel down) and 2 for 12 on third downs. Moore dropped two passes, and WR Rod Streater dropped one and also ran the wrong route on a third-down play, resulting in an incomplete pass. The Raiders forced four turnovers but scored only 26 points. Previous game’s grade: C-

Defense: B+

The Raiders strung together their third straight solid defensive effort. They held the Chiefs to 102 rushing yards and turned up the pass-rushing heat on K.C.'s quarterbacks, recording three sacks, one each by Rolando McClain, Philip Wheeler and Richard Seymour. The defense came up with three turnovers -- interceptions by S Matt Giordano and CB Pat Lee and a fumble recovery by DT Tommy Kelly. Wheeler was a beast, making a team-high 11 tackles, including his sack. Previous game’s grade: B-

Special teams: B

Long snapper Jon Condo made a huge hustle play late in the first half, getting downfield to recover a punt that Kansas City's Javier Arenas muffed. The Raiders took over at the Chiefs' 11, setting up Palmer's 9-yard TD pass to Moore that put them ahead 13-6. Sebastian Janikowski made all four of his field goal attempts -- he actually misfired from 37 yards in the fourth quarter but got a do-over from 32, thanks to a Chiefs penalty -- and he drilled it. Philip Adams had an impressive 27-yard punt return. P Shane Lechler had another so-so day, averaging 42.7 yards with a net average of 29.5 on six punts. Previous game’s grade: D+

Coaching: B

Offensive coordinator Greg Knapp stuck with the running game long enough to get McFadden untracked, giving him 29 carries. Defensive coordinator Jason Tarver put together a solid game plan, taking away the Chiefs' running game, making them one-dimensional then unleashing some well-timed blitzes. Coach Dennis Allen had his team focused and disciplined. The Raiders committed only two penalties for 20 yards and won the turnover battle 4-1. Previous game’s grade: C-
