Rams vs. Jaguars: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Sunday's NFL game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Rams vs. Jaguars football game
Game Recap
The Los Angeles Rams ran circles around the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, and the extra yardage (418 yards vs. 197 yards) paid off. Los Angeles was the clear victor by a 37-7 margin over Jacksonville. Since the Rams won the last time these teams met, too, this is only more fuel for the fire driving the Jaguars' future revenge.
Los Angeles started the game off right with 16 first-half points. Jacksonville wasn't quite able to keep up, and the score was 16-7 heading into the break. Los Angeles put the contest away in the third quarter with 14 points from the offense and zero points allowed from the defense.
RB Sony Michel had only a few touches last week, but he got the ball a lot more this time and made it count. The Rams' success was spearheaded by the efforts of QB Matthew Stafford, who passed for three TDs and 295 yards on 38 attempts, and Michel, who rushed for one TD and 121 yards on 24 carries. This was the first time Michel has racked up 100+ rushing yards all year. WR Cooper Kupp also helped out with an impressive 129 receiving yards in the victory.
Special teams collected 13 points for Los Angeles. K Matt Gay delivered a perfect 3-for-3 game.
The Jaguars' only offensive touchdown came from RB Carlos Hyde.
The Rams' win brought them up to 8-4. Jacksonville's defeat pushed them down to 2-10.
Los Angeles will take on the Arizona Cardinals at 8:15 p.m. ET next week at State Farm Stadium. Los Angeles will need a sterling offensive performance if they want to penetrate an unbending defense that has allowed an average of only 18.67 points per game. Jacksonville is on the road again next Sunday and plays against the Tennessee Titans at 1 p.m. ET Dec. 12 at Nissan Stadium. Tennessee is hoping for a better outcome this matchup after a 36-13 loss to the New England Patriots.
