The first injury report for the 2012 season is out for the Cowboys-Giants kickoff on Wednesday, and Dallas nose tackle Jay Ratliff won’t play with a high ankle sprain. New York receiver Hakeem Nicks is 50-50, and Cowboys tight end Jason Witten probably won’t suit up.
Nicks is listed as questionable, though he has maintained throughout his recovery from a broken bone in his foot that he would be ready to play the season opener, but be forewarned: He also said he would be ready to practice by the beginning of training camp, and he wasn’t.
Witten, meanwhile, is doubtful while still recuperating from a lacerated spleen, though he started practicing last week, which is a positive sign for Dallas.
Others on the Giants injury report: Probable -- running back Ahmad Bradshaw (hand); Questionable -- tackle Will Beatty (back), linebacker Michael Boley (hamstring), linebacker Mathias Kiwanuka (groin), running back Da’Rel Scott (knee) and defensive end Adrian Tracy (hamstring); Out -- cornerback Prince Amukamara (ankle), defensive tackle Marvin Austin and tackle James Brewer (back).
For the Cowboys: Questionable -- cornerback Mike Jenkins (shoulder); Doubtful -- safety Danny McCray (stinger).
