We caught up with some of the Ravens' injured players Saturday to see how their recovery was coming.
CB Cary Williams, who's missed two consecutive practices, said he's not experiencing anything serious but wouldn't divulge any injury information: "It's nothing to do with my right hip that I had surgery on. It's perfectly fine. I'm just taking a couple of days off."
OLB Courtney Upshaw on his injured shoulder: "Right now, it’s still sore and it’s still a little stiff. We’re just trying to work on getting that out. ... It wasn’t a stinger because I’ve had plenty of stingers. Probably a little sprain, a little soreness in there.”
WR Tandon Doss on his injured hamstring: "It's more like it tightened up. I'm trying to lay low until (it's better.) ... I'm getting treatment multiple times a day so I've been in it pretty hard."
DE Arthur Jones is relieved an MRI showed his hip flexor injury isn't serious: "It was a little nagging injury that bothered me. I'd rather fix it now before it becomes a serious, big injury. Right now, we're doing all the rivght things, icing it and stem and treating it every single day. I can't wait to get back out here with these guys."
OL Jah Reid on his calf injury: "I'm working on it. It's hard being patient. You just got to wait for this thing to heal. Me and (team trainer) Mark Smith and the training staff are working as hard as we can to get me back out there as soon as possible."
C Matt Birk said his back spasms are improving: "I don't try to predict anything or rush anything. Just every day, making progress every day and doing everything I can and eveyrthing they tell me to do. Rest and strengthening and flexibility and therapies, all sorts of stuff."
More injuries: CB Jimmy Smith is still dealing with a back injury and missed Saturday's practice. He was unavailable for comment afterward. RB Bernard Pierce (hamstring), WR David Reed (ACL), TE Dennis Pitta (hand), LB Josh Bynes (undisclosed) and WR Patrick Williams (undisclosed) did not participate in Saturday's practice.
