The Ravens braved 97-degree heat to finish their first training camp practice in Owings Mills, Md. As usual, when training camp begins, the defense got out to a fast start with quite a few big plays. But QB Joe Flacco had a solid outing running the offense, highlighted by a deep pass thrown perfectly to newly acquired WR Jacoby Jones.
Who's here: A lot of people wondered if Ed Reed would make it to training camp. The answer's yes, he did. Reed even dazzled the 200 fans in attendance with a leaping pass breakup, showing that the 33-year old can still play. Ray Lewis looked quick after losing a lot of weight during the offseason.
Who’s not: In somewhat of a surprise, LT Bryant McKinnie was a no-show for the first day of training camp. Coach John Harbaugh said Tuesday he expected McKinnie to report to camp. What wasn't expected was for McKinnie not to show at all. Harbaugh said a personal issue was keeping the veteran OT from attending. Three-time Pro Bowler Haloti Ngata missed the first day of camp with a tweaked hamstring suffered during his conditioning test.
