Redskins right tackle Jammal Brown does not need surgery on his left hip, but there's still uncertainty over when he'll be able to play again.
Brown saw his doctor in New York on Tuesday and Wednesday and came away with good news about the surgery. However, Brown told ESPN 980 that he's still quite sore.
Brown's right hip also is bothering him, but it's not as bad as the left, coach Mike Shanahan said.
Brown will remain on the physically unable to perform list indefinitely. He re-injured his hip running sprints the day before practice. His left hip, which needed surgery in 2009, has bothered him since he was traded to Washington two years ago.
