A disappointing start to the career of strong safety Phillip Thomas has been punctuated by his release from the Redskins.
The fourth-round pick in 2013 lost his rookie sesaon to Lisfranc surgery and was hampered by hamstring issues much of last year, during which he made 27 tackles. But he was buried on the depth chart to start 2015 and was deemed expendable, per the Washington Post.
