Asante Samuel's been on Philadelphia's trading block for quite a while. Rumors have swirled about the interest level of various teams and now a new suitor has reportedly jumped in to talk turkey with the Eagles: the Falcons. (Yes, that is a lot of birds.)
That's according to Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com, who reports that Atlanta has "had talks with Philly" over the last couple of days.
Glazer also added in a second tweet that "talks [are] continuing [and] could go either way."Another team to watch jumping into the Asante Samuel trade talk is Atlanta, who has had talks w Philly last couple of days.

It only seems like a matter of time until Samuel is eventually dealt; Jason LaCanfora of the NFL Network reports that "there is a very high probability" that Philly will end up dealing Samuel this week.
Previously, the Titans and Broncos had been mentioned as possible suitors for Samuel. Adam Schefter of ESPN reported Tuesday that the Broncos "are not expected to trade for" Samuel, meaning they're likely out of the mix at this point.
The Falcons are a logical landing point for Samuel if Brent Grimes continues no-showing workouts -- Grimes wasn't present at the Falcons voluntary workouts, likely a result of being given the franchise tag this offseason. Of course, it's entirely possible that the rumors surrounding Samuel were designed to get Grimes to show up and sign his tender, which he did on Tuesday, according to Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta-Journal Constitution.
"Obviously, we’d like to have him in the building, but those are voluntary," Atlanta GM Thomas Dimitroff said about Grimes no-showing the workouts.
Samuel is currently owed a whopping $21.5 million over the next two years and will clearly have to restructure his deal in order to make a trade happen. Additionally, it's not believed the Eagles are asking for a ton in return for Samuel -- his cost and age (31) aren't going to warrant an early pick from anyone.
But if a playoff-caliber team in need of secondary help can get Samuel to take less money and pick him up from Philly for a cheap cost, he could end up being a pretty nice investment.
