When Eagles star defensive end Jason Babin strained his calf Saturday, it was originally thought he’d only have to miss about a week of practice. But after an MRI, the news is a little worse than that, and CSN Philly is reporting that Babin actually will miss two to three weeks with a second-degree strain.
As Reuben Frank writes, Babin shouldn’t be in danger of missing the season opener, and instead, he could have to sit out only a couple preseason games.
“The issue with Babin's calf is that the partially torn muscle is the one he uses to push off when he rushes the passer,” Frank wrote. “Gotta be cautious.”
For a guy coming off an 18-sack season, it’s not difficult to agree with that assessment.
