The Redskins will sign safety Phillip Thomas to the active roster prior to Sunday's game against the Vikings, ESPN.com reports.
Thomas was unable to survive final roster cuts during the preseason. He suffered a season-ending foot injury during the previous preseason and has yet to appear in a regular-season game.
