Tennessee Titans' wide receiver/returner Marc Mariani left Thursday's game vs. the Cardinals with a fractured left tibia, ESPN reported.
Mariani's ankle got caught under a pile on a first-quarter punt return. It appeared that Mariani took an awkward step after being inadvertently contacted by Titans LBs Patrick Bailey and Zac Diles. Mariani left the field on a cart and was taken to a nearby Nashville hospital, ESPN reported.
The third-year WR earned a spot in the Pro Bowl in his rookie season as a returner. With Mariani out, fourth-year RB Darius Reynaud is the likely replacement. Reynaud entered Thursday's game averaging more than 44 yards per punt return.
