In a recent Sirius XM interview, Jets tight end Jace Amaro decided to poke the proverbial bear, noting that Rex Ryan didn't hold players accountable during Amaro's rookie -- and Ryan's final -- season with the Jets.
Amaro quickly found out that Ryan doesn't just wake up angry when he's poked, he wakes up talking too. In an interview with TheMMQB.com, Ryan called Amaro "full of s---" and basically planned a little personal revenge.
“He’s full of s---, and I’ll remind him of that when we play him. Look, we weren’t perfect, and I never said we were going to be perfect," Ryan said. "But that’s a f---ing b.s. comment. But, hey, he’s happy that he’s got a different coach in place. We’ll see how happy he is when I play against him.”
Amaro won't have to do much to improve on his numbers against the Bills from last year: he caught just five passes for 51 yards and no scores in a pair of games.
Amaro should take a nice leap in his second year, particularly with an improved offensive coaching staff and the creative Chan Gailey running things.
But don't expect much out of him against the Bills. When Ryan gets his mind set on attacking a particular angle of an offense, he's pretty good at snuffing it out.
