McBean has signed a deal with Baltimore, though he's suspended for six games. (US Presswire) |
In March, Ryan McBean was one of two Broncos to earn a six-game suspension from the league for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy. About a month later, Denver released the defensive lineman, who claimed that his urine samples were tampered with by the collector before the positive result was revealed.
Though he’s still suspended for now, McBean has found a new employer in the Ravens. As the team’s website notes, Baltimore is looking for defensive line depth after losing Cory Redding and Brandon McKinney in free agency.
Considering McBean is coming off a career year -- he had four sacks and 33 total tackles for the Broncos -- he could certainly help in the second half of the season if that suspension is not overturned.
McBean is in the middle of suing the NFL for his suspension, alleging the league improperly handled the speciman.
