Seahawks at 49ers score: Seattle storms back in fourth quarter to win, will have No. 3 seed in NFC

A fourth quarter rally by Russell Wilson led the Seattle Seahawks past the San Francisco 49ers, avoiding a big upset in the NFC. Win or lose, Seattle locked up the No. 3 seed in the NFC playoffs thanks to the Green Bay Packers and New Orleans Saints winning. The Seahawks will host the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC wild card round after Los Angeles defeated the Arizona Cardinals in Week 17.

Wilson finished 19 of 35 for 176 yards and two touchdowns, leading Seattle to touchdowns on three consecutive drives in the fourth quarter to snatch the victory. San Francisco led 16-6 heading into the final frame, but Seattle compiled 167 yards in the final quarter and scored on each drive.

Jason Myers has hit both his field goals in the win, converting 35 straight field goal attempts dating back to last year. He did miss an extra point attempt in the game, which was his fourth miss of the season. D.K. Metcalf set the single-season franchise record for receiving yards in a season, passing Steve Largent's mark of 1,287 in 1985. Tyler Lockett passed Bobby Engram and Doug Baldwin's record for receptions in a season (94), becoming the first Seahawks player with 100 catches in a season. Lockett's four-yard touchdown reception on fourth-and-goal gave Seattle the lead for good with 2:20 left.

No touchdowns were scored in the first three quarters of the game, but five were scored between the two teams in the fourth. C.J. Beathard finished 25 of 37 for 273 yards and a touchdown, making the start in place of second-string quarterback Nick Mullens. Jamal Adams left the game with a shoulder injury in the second half and did not return.

That Beathard fumble should seal this win for Seattle (SF has all three timeouts left). The Seahawks can close the deal with a TD here.

There it is. Wilson to Lockett on 4th-and-goal for the TD.

Let Russ cook.

Seattle will stay at No. 3, but they are in position to avoid the embarrassing loss. What a throw.

I think we get one more big play from Wilson here. Seahawks need a D for the lead, so this is four-down territory. 3rd-and-goal at the 4.

The Seahawks are willing themselves to a win again. At the 49ers 39-yard line after Wilson finds Lockett for 9 yards. As long as Seattle has Russ, they have a chance.

Shoulder injury for Jamal Adams. No injury designation. Looks like he'll come back in.

Jamal Adams has left the field. That's not what the Seahawks defense needs right now. This defense transformed the second he came back in Week 8.

Russell Wilson with an amazing throw to Tyler Lockett and bought himself so much time avoiding the sack. Tough job for Fred Warner covering Tyler Lockett there, but the Seahawks get the TD they need. Of course, Myers misses the extra point so they still need the TD.

The Seahawks are in the red zone. Better to get the TD now, but need points on the board after the 20-yard pass to Dissly to put Seattle at the 7-yard line.
