Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor continued his holdout Wednesday, which forced coach Pete Carroll to rule him out for the season opener against the Rams.
“He’s not here right and so he’s not playing,” Carroll said, per The Seattle Times. “Today is Wednesday.”
Carroll added he was disappointed Chancellor has continued to remain away from the team.
“I am disappointed in this very much so,” Carroll said. “I think everybody should be because he’s been a great part of our team. It’s unfortunate that it’s come to this and he’s not here.
“I’m just going to take it like this is Wednesday and we’ll just see what happens next. If this is Wednesday I’m probably going to be speaking the same way next week, saying the same thing to you.”
Dion Bailey will start in Chancellor's absence.
