Sometimes when a player switches teams and then plays against his old team, he'll say 'it's just another game.' New Seahawks cornerback Antoine Winfield isn't doing that.
Winfield has at least one game circled on the Seahawks 2013 schedule and it happens to be the one against his old team: the Minnesota Vikings.
"Oh my, it's circled," Winfield said, via USA Today. "I can't wait to play against those guys."
Winfield spent nine seasons in Minnesota before signing with Seattle in April. Winfield ended up with the Seahawks because the Vikings cut him in March. Minnesota made a contract offer to the 36-year-old cornerback, hoping he'd return, but he decided the Seahawks were better suited for his ultimate goal.
"It's all about winning," Winfield said. "I want to win a championship. We got a lot of talent out here."
Winfield probably isn't the only Seahawk that has Nov. 17 circled on the calendar. Seattle has turned into Minnesota-west. The Seahawks have several former Vikings on the team, including Percy Harvin, Sidney Rice, Tarvaris Jackson and Heath Farwell.
Seattle offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell also spent some time in Minnesota. Bevell was the Vikings offensive coordinator from 2006-2010.
Bevell, Winfield, Rice, Harvin, Farwell and Jackson were all apart of the 2009 Vikings team that made it to the NFC Championship game and they'll be hoping to do at least that much in Seattle.
