For the first time all season, it was the Seattle Seahawks offense that kept the team in the game, not the team's vaunted defense. Rookie QB Russell Wilson threw for 236 yards, a career-high for a road game. Unfortunately Wilson's performance was overshadowed by Lions QB Matt Stafford, who threw for 352 yards and three touchdowns in Detroit's 28-24 win. 

Offense: B+

Wilson played his best road game of the season and Marshawn Lynch went over 100 yards on only 12 carries, which is why the offense grades so high. Wilson went into Sunday with a 55.7 road QB rating and he almost doubled it against the Lions. Wilson finished 25 of 35 for 236 yards and two touchdowns, good for a 96.8 rating. Wilson didn't play a perfect game though, he did throw a third quarter interception. As for Lynch, he gave the team and the offense a huge spark with a 77-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. Previous game's grade: C-

Defense: D+

Statistically, Sunday wasn't the defense's worst game of the season -- that would be the Patriots game -- but it was the ugliest. The offense put the Seahawks in front three different times against the Lions, but the defense lost the lead each time. Stafford shredded the Seahawks secondary for 352 yards, including 75 yards on the Lions' game-winning touchdown drive in the fourth quarter. On the bright side -- and there wasn't much bright side --- the defense did limit the Lions to only 84 rushing yards, and they did sack Stafford twice. Previous game's grade: B

Special Teams: B

If there's one person on the team the Seahawks can always count on, it's punter Jon Ryan. Ryan had another great game on Sunday, punting the ball three times for an average of 48.3 yards, including a 64-yard punt in the second quarter. Even more impressive, all three of Ryan's punts pinned the Lions inside their own 20. The Seahawks only special teams mistakes on the day came from usually reliable KR Leon Washington. Questionable returns by Washington gave Seattle poor field position twice on Sunday, including a fourth quarter return where the Seahawks started a drive on their own 13. Previous game's grade: B-

Coaching: B-

The Seahawks have the sixth best rushing offense in the NFL, which makes the fact that there were only 19 run plays called on Sunday kind of baffling. The Seahawks are at their best when the run-pass play calling is close to 50-50. Against the Lions it was 64.8 percent pass and only 35.2 percent run. The Seahawks got away from their bread-and-butter, which led to the Lions having the ball almost nine and a half minutes longer than the Seahawks (34:43-25:17). Previous game's grade: B-
