Seahawks vs. Jaguars updates: Live NFL game scores, results for Sunday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Seahawks vs. Jaguars football game
The Jacksonville Jaguars have enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they must head out on the road. Their bye week comes to an end as they meet up with the Seattle Seahawks at 4:05 p.m. ET at Lumen Field on Sunday. The Jaguars will be strutting in after a win while Seattle will be stumbling in from a defeat.
Jacksonville came out on top in a nail-biter against the Miami Dolphins two weeks ago, sneaking past 23-20. Jacksonville relied on the efforts of RB James Robinson, who punched in one rushing touchdown, and WR Marvin Jones, who caught seven passes for one TD and 100 yards. That receiving effort made it the first game that Jones has posted more than 100 yards receiving.
Special teams collected 11 points for Jacksonville. K Matthew Wright booted in three field goals, the longest a 54-yarder in the fourth quarter, which ultimately accounted for the difference in the game.
Speaking of close games: Seattle was close but no cigar this past Monday as they fell 13-10 to the New Orleans Saints. WR DK Metcalf put forth a good effort for the losing side as he caught two passes for one TD and 96 yards. Near the top of the highlight reel was Geno Smith's 84-yard TD bomb to Metcalf in the first quarter.
The Jaguars are expected to lose this next one by 3.5. Those who got lucky with them against the spread two weeks ago might want to hold off on placing bets this time since the squad has yet to string together back-to-back wins against the spread.
Jacksonville's victory brought them up to 1-5 while the Seahawks' loss pulled them down to 2-5. A couple defensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: Jacksonville is third worst in the NFL in yards allowed per game, with 412.2 on average. Seattles have had an even harder time: they are stumbling into the contest with the second most yards allowed per game in the league, having given up 414.7 on average. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
