The Seattle Seahawks don't have a ton beyond Russell Wilson on their quarterback depth chart. Two undrafted QBs -- Trevone Boykin and Jake Heaps -- sit behind Wilson as his backups. So, they're looking elsewhere for potential help. 

NFL.com reports that the Seahawks will work out backup options soon, one of which will likely be former Seahawks rival Colin Kaepernick. 

Pete Carroll recently identified Kaepernick and Robert Griffin III as potential options for the position, while general manager John Schneider reportedly contacted Kaepernick's agent a couple weeks ago. 

Those actions prompted defensive end Michael Bennett to publicly state that Seattle is the "perfect place" for Kaepernick to continue his career. And he wasn't the only one. A city council member in Seattle also urged the team to sign Kaepernick.

If a workout goes well, maybe that deal comes to fruition. The Seahawks could certainly benefit from having someone with at least some measure of experience behind Wilson, even if the five-year veteran hasn't missed a game in his career.
