It took one play into the Steelers' first series against the Titans on Thursday night to lose a player to injury. Center Maurkice Pouncey's lower right leg was rolled up on while he was in pass protection. He walked off the field under his own power and the team's medical staff evaluated him on the sideline.
Pouncey, the Steelers' first-round pick in 2010, suffered a left high-ankle sprain against the Jets in the AFC Championship game during his rookie season and ended up missing the Super Bowl. He also missed two games last season with a high-ankle sprain.
Doug Legursky, a former undrafted free agent out of Marshall, replaced Pouncey on Thursday night, as he did in 2010 and 2011.
