Jake Locker flourished during a Tennessee Titans team scrimmage on Saturday at LP Field, finishing with a high completion rate for the second consecutive practice.

Locker is competing with incumbent starter Matt Hasselbeck for the Titans' starting QB position. The battle likely won't be settled until the Titans' third preseason game on Aug. 23 against the Cardinals.

The Titans ran a series of mock game situations throughout the scrimmage. It was the team's first opportunity to practice on their home field since the stadium added new high-definition LED video screens and a sound system in the offseason. The new sound system includes 800 additional speakers placed throughout the stadium.

The improvements were evident on Saturday when music blasted as the the players emerged from the tunnel and video replays appeared on the screens after nearly every play.

“I think it's awesome,” coach Mike Munchak said. “The speaker system they put in sounds unbelievable. I think it's going to be exciting for the fans -- it just adds to the whole package of the game.”

The scrimmage was cut short by about 20 plays due to lightning near the stadium.

On the field, Locker was patient and methodical for the second straight day. The second-year QB has completed more than 83 percent of his attempts since a 1-of-10 performanceThursday night.

Locker opened 10 of 12 on Saturday, including a completion to WR Nate Washington in traffic and another to rookie WR Kendall Wright on a crossing route. Locker also looked effective in red-zone situations.

The Titans' first-round pick in 2011 found WR Marc Mariani in the left corner of the end zone for a touchdown after buying time with his legs. Locker added another score when he connected with WR Michael Preston on a crossing route. The second-year wideout beat rookie CB Coty Sensabaugh on the play.

Although not as spectacular as Locker, Hasselbeck looked sharp for stretches Saturday. The 36-year old opened 8 of 8 before throwing two straight incompletions. The second came on a deep route along the right sideline that Sensabaugh intercepted and took back for a sizable return.

In the red-zone drill, Hasselbeck was off target on a few throws and had a mix up with Wright on an incompletion. Wright broke to the inside on a Hasselbeck pass that landed in the left corner of the end zone.
