Rodger Saffold will be joining the list of offensive linemen who are available on the open market. The Pro Bowl guard has been informed by the Titans that they will release him, CBS Sports NFL insider Josina Anderson has confirmed.

Saffold was entering the final year of his four-year, $44 million deal. He was in line to receive a $1 million bonus if he was still on the team's roster next week.

When contacted by Anderson about his release and what the future holds, Saffold said: "No clue we'll see who's interested and go from there."

The 6-foot-5, 325-pound lineman was selected to his first Pro Bowl in 2021. He played in 15 games last season while helping the Titans finish fifth in the league in rushing despite losing Derrick Henry midway through the season. The Titans' line struggled at times to protect Ryan Tannehill, however, as Tannehill was sacked 47 times, his highest total since joining the Titans in 2019.

A 2010 second-round pick, Saffold spent his first nine seasons with the Rams and was the team's starting left guard when Los Angeles reached the Super Bowl in 2018. He joined the Titans the ensuing offseason and helped Tennessee reach the AFC Championship Game during his first year in Nashville. Saffold helped Henry win consecutive rushing titles that included his 2,027-yard campaign in 2020.

The 33-year-old Saffold will hit the open market less than a week before the official start of free agency. Among the other guards looking for new teams include Brandon Scherff, Andrew Norwell, Laurent Duvernay-TardifAlex Lewis, and Laken Tomlinson, among others.
