Matt Hasselbeck threw two more interceptions Wednesday, pushing his training camp total to nine through the first 10 practices of Tennessee Titans training camp.
Interceptions may be a concern for Hasselbeck. Since the start of the 2009 season, the three-time Pro Bowl quarterback has thrown 48 in 44 games. By comparison, Texans quarterback Matt Schaub has 33 interceptions in 42 games.
Hasselbeck is competing with Jake Locker for the starting quarterback position.
Hasselbeck opened Wednesday's 11-on-11 drill 2 of 5, including an interception by linebacker Colin McCarthy on a short pass in the left flat. Moments later, cornerback Alterraun Verner returned a Hasselbeck interception for a touchdown along the right sideline. Hasselbeck's pass was intended for running back Chris Johnson, who stopped on a short route in the left flat.
Hasselbeck hasn't been helped by his receivers. Both of his interceptions in Monday's joint practice with the Falcons were intended for wide receiver Kendall Wright. On the second interception, the Titans' first-round pick ran the wrong route on a deep pass by Hasselbeck along the left sideline.
Locker didn't have an interception in Wednesday's practice. Battling high temperatures and humidity, the second-year quarterback was steady throughout. Locker had several impressive completions on the run but also overthrew wide receiver Damian Williams on a deep route down the right sideline early in the drill.
