The Vikings have plenty of injured players in camp, and coach Leslie Frazier has decided not to push them to try to be ready for the preseason game on Friday against the 49ers.
At his post-walk through press conference, Frazier read a list of players who won’t be making the trip to San Francisco.
It included: CB Robert Blanton (hamstring), TE John Carlson (knee), WR Kamar Jorden (broken hand), OL De Marcus Love (shoulder), RB Jordan Todman (ankle), Geoff Schwartz (sports hernia), RB Adrian Peterson (knee) and Josh Robinson (hamstring).
Robinson had returned Saturday and looked good in the passing scrimmage, but he was held back in Tuesday afternoon's practice because the hamstring tightened up.
“We want to be certain when we do put him out there that he can burst,” said Frazier. “He can probably get through, but that is not what we want him to do—just get through—at this point. We’ll give him a few more days and let him line up next when we play our next (preseason) ball game.”
