Wide receiver and return man Jacoby Ford’s year came to an end Saturday when the Raiders placed him on season-ending injured reserve, four days after he underwent surgery to repair an injury to the Lisfranc joint in his left foot.

In another move, the Raiders placed cornerback Ron Bartell on the new short-term IR list. Bartell, who broke his left shoulder blade Monday night against San Diego, will be eligible to return to practice on Oct. 27 and to play on Nov. 11 against Baltimore.

The Raiders also signed cornerback Coye Francies and long snapper Nick Guess from their practice squad to their 53-man roster. Veteran long snapper Jon Condo suffered a concussion Monday night. If Condo can’t play, then Guess will fill in Sunday against Miami.

Francies made the team’s initial 53-man roster but was waived then signed to the practice squad. With Ford on IR and backup kick returner Taiwan Jones battling an injury to his ribs, Francies might return kicks Sunday.
