Kai Forbath: Cut by Rams
Forbath (ankle) was waived off injured reserve by the Rams on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
The 33-year-old landed on injured reserve in mid-November but now parts ways with the team as the Rams prepare for the playoffs. Forbath appeared in two games and made two of three field-goal attempts and four of five extra-point attempts for Los Angeles.

Rams' Kai Forbath: Will move to IR
Coach Sean McVay said that Forbath (ankle) will go on injured reserve, Kevin Modesti of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
Los Angeles has a kicker turnstile on its hands, with Forbath now out of commission after taking over for rookie Samuel Sloman. Forbath went 2-for-3 on field-goal tries and 4-for-5 on extra points during his two active games for the Rams, but with him now unavailable, Matt Gay and Austin MacGinnis are being considered as practice-squad pickups. The Rams have an upcoming Monday night game against the Buccaneers for Week 11, a contest during which margins may be slim and placekicking therefore particularly important.

Rams' Kai Forbath: Hurts ankle in win
Coach Sean McVay said after Sunday's win over the Seahawks that he has no update on Forbath's (ankle) status, Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports.
Forbath sustained the injury earlier in the game, as reported by Emmanuel Morgan of the Los Angeles Times. This was Forbath's second game as Los Angeles' kicker since he took over for released rookie Samuel Sloman. Forbath's practice participation will be worth monitoring this coming week as the team prepares to face Tampa Bay.

Rams' Kai Forbath: Goes 1-for-2 in debut
Forbath connected on one of his two field-goal attempts and converted both extra-point kicks during Sunday's 28-17 loss to Miami.
The missed kick came from 48 yards with 3:42 remaining and would have made it a one-possession game, so it was a costly miss for Forbath and the Rams. However, the veteran will likely handle kicking duties for Los Angeles in Week 10 against Seattle, which could prove to be a high-scoring affair and provide him with an opportunity to post a solid fantasy showing.

Rams' Kai Forbath: Takes over as kicker
Forbath is poised to serve as the Rams' kicker in Sunday's game against the Dolphins after Los Angeles released Sam Sloman on Tuesday, Eric D. Williams of SI.com reports.
Forbath joined the Rams a week ago, but he wasn't available to kick in Monday's 24-10 win over the Bears while waiting to clear COVID-19 protocols. Sloman remained in place as Los Angeles' kicker Week 7 and continued to struggle, as his blocked field goal from 48 yards out marked his sixth missed kick of the season. Given that Forbath is now with his fourth team in less than two years, he likely won't have much job security, but he'll at least have some stability in the short term while the Rams roster no other kickers.

Rams' Kai Forbath: Will not play Monday
Forbath has not passed COVID-19 protocols and will not play in Monday's contest as a result, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com reports.
Forbath will first arrive to the Rams' facilities Sunday due to testing so it was never really feasible for the veteran kicker to see action in Week 7. Samuel Sloman will get one more week as the starter, though given his struggles (three missed extra points along with two field-goal attempts in 2020), it certainly appears as if Forbath will have the upper hand on the starting job once he can officially practice.

Rams' Kai Forbath: Status uncertain for Week 7
Head coach Sean McVay said that Forbath won't be able to report to the Rams' facility until Sunday at the earliest while he completes COVID-19 intake testing, J.B. Long of the Los Angeles Rams Radio Network reports.
Los Angeles signed Forbath off the Bears' practice squad earlier this week, presumably to provide competition for struggling rookie kicker Samuel Sloman, who has already missed five kicks (two field goals, three extra points) through the Rams' first six games. Forbath's delayed arrival might hurt his chances of overtaking Sloman in Week 7, but McVay noted that the former could "theoretically" still kick for the Rams in Monday's game against Chicago. More clarity on the Rams' kicking situation should arrive by the end of the weekend.

Rams' Kai Forbath: Finds home in L.A.
The Rams signed Forbath off the Bears' practice squad Tuesday, Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports.
The journeyman kicker now has found his way onto the active roster of seven different organizations. With a career success rate of 86.8 percent on his 151 field-goal attempts, the 33-year-old joins a special-teams unit that features struggling rookie Samuel Sloman, who has made 15 of 18 PATs and seven of nine FGs this season. It remains to be seen who will be L.A.'s placekicker Monday against Chicago.
