Jerrell Powe: Released by Washington
Powe was released by Washington on Saturday.
Powe was sidelined the majority of the preseason due to heart arrhythmia, but was able to make a return to the field for the final week of the preseason. However, it appears he missed too much time to secure a spot on the 53-man roster. He could find his way onto another team, if his heart condition doesn't deter teams from taking a chance on him.

Redskins' Jerrell Powe: Could miss two more weeks
Powe (heart arrhythmia) is likely going to miss another few weeks, Master Tesfatsion of the Washington Post reports.
Powe was diagnosed with a heart arrhythmia at the start of August and was originally given a 7-to-10 day timeline for a return. However, it appears they're going to play it safe with the issue and continue to hold him out for another couple of weeks. Powe could be a contributor at nose tackle due to the Redskins' lack of depth, but he'll need to get his health issues in check prior to getting back on the field.
