Xavier Rhodes: Let go by Bills
Buffalo waived Rhodes on Wednesday, Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site reports.
Rhodes was once a standout cornerback, but now at 32 years old, he doesn't seem to have much left in the tank. He saw action in just two games this season, logging 68 snaps in total. Safety Jared Mayden will take Rhodes' spot on the roster.

Bills' Xavier Rhodes: Sitting out Sunday
Rhodes (coach's decision) is inactive Sunday against the Jets.
Rhodes played 86 percent of the team's defensive snaps Week 13 against the Patriots, while Kaiir Elam sat as a healthy scratch. Now their roles will reverse Sunday, as Elam is active and Rhodes will sit.

Xavier Rhodes: Leaves injured list
Rhodes (hamstring) was reinstated to the practice squad Tuesday.
Rhodes joined the Bills' practice squad Sept. 28, but he was placed on the team's injured list Oct. 1. The expectation was he'd quickly make it to the active roster but the injury derailed those plans. Now healthy, Rhodes will work to earn a spot on the 53-man roster.

Xavier Rhodes: Facing extended absence
Rhodes (hamstring) was placed on the practice squad injured list Saturday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

Xavier Rhodes: Won't play at Baltimore
Coach Sean McDermott said Friday that Rhodes (hamstring) won't play Week 4, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
Some expected Rhodes to be elevated to the active roster immediately after signing with Buffalo's practice squad Wednesday given that Tre'Davious White (knee) and Christian Benford (hand) will both be out and Dane Jackson (neck) is questionable to play too. However, it appears Rhodes will have to wait until at least Week 5 to see game action with an injury of his own. The Bills' secondary is a hospital wing right now, which bodes well for early MVP candidate Lamar Jackson this Sunday.

Xavier Rhodes: Works out for Bills
Rhodes (hamstring) is trying out for the Bills on Tuesday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.

Xavier Rhodes: Joins Buffalo's practice squad
The Bills signed Rhodes to the practice squad Tuesday, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
Rhodes played for the Colts from 2020-21, making 29 starts over two seasons, but he remained a free agent to begin the 2022 campaign. While the veteran signed a practice-squad deal, he's likely going to be promoted to Buffalo's active roster for Week 4. The Bills' top cornerback, Tre'Davious White (knee), started the season on the PUP list, while fellow corners Dane Jackson (neck) and Christian Benford (hand) could be out for a couple weeks. Micah Hyde (neck) is also lost for the season, while the team's other starting safety, Jordan Poyer, is dealing with a foot injury. Given the depleted secondary, it wouldn't be surprising to see Rhodes thrust into a major role right away, even if he isn't fully acclimated to the defensive schemes yet.
