Micah Hyde: Announces retirement
Hyde announced his retirement from the NFL on Tuesday.
Hyde, at age 34, reunited with Buffalo as a member of the practice squad down the stretch of the 2024 campaign, but he'll hang up his cleats rather than attempting to return for another year. The two-time second-team All-Pro safety played 12 years in the NFL, during which he logged 158 regular-season appearances between the Packers and Bills, in addition to suiting up for 17 playoff games.

Micah Hyde: Returns to Buffalo for stretch run
Hyde signed with the Bills' practice squad Wednesday.
Hyde became a free agent in the spring and never ended up signing with another team, instead opting to take more time off after he battled neck stingers during the 2023 season. Now ready to play again, the 33-year-old safety ultimately elected to return to Buffalo, with whom he had spent the past seven seasons. Because he's getting off to a late start to the season, Hyde may need a few weeks to get back into optimal playing condition before the Bills would feel comfortable elevating him from the practice squad. According to Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com, Hyde said that he plans to retire once the Bills' 2024 season comes to a close.

Micah Hyde: May play with Bills in 2024
Hyde has said he will either sign with Buffalo for 2024 or retire before the start of next season, Nick Sabato of the Niagara Gazette reports.
Hyde has been considering retiring from football since the Bills were eliminated by the Chiefs from the postseason back in January. Former running mate Jordan Poyer departed for Miami in March, so if Hyde does come back to Buffalo for one more year, he would likely be in line for a significant role.
