Reaching an injury settlement removes Dobson from injured reserve, allowing him to immediately sign with any team other than the Cardinals.

Cardinals' Aaron Dobson: Heads to IR
The Cardinals placed Dobson (hamstring) on injured reserve Saturday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports.
After missing the first three outings of the preseason, Dobson totaled 39 offensive snaps across the Cardinals' final two exhibitions, yet he gathered in just one of five passes for 13 yards. He also hasn't recorded a catch since the 2015 season, so him sticking around the Arizona desert is a bit of a shock.

Cardinals' Aaron Dobson: Out of Saturday's lineup
Dobson (hamstring) is not expected to suit up against the Bears for Saturday's preseason matchup, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Dobson missed the first two preseason games with this hamstring injury, and he was expected to return Saturday since he practiced in full Tuesday. The 2013 second-round pick doesn't have an overly-impressive resume to fall back on, so proving himself in preseason is essential to making the 53-man roster in Arizona.

Cardinals' Aaron Dobson: Misses HOF Game
Dobson (hamstring) didn't play in Thursday's Hall of Fame Game against the Cowboys.
Bothered by a hamstring issue since the beginning of training camp, Dobson is falling behind in a fierce battle for a roster spot at wide receiver. With Larry Fitzgerald, John Brown (quad), J.J. Nelson, Jaron Brown (knee) and Chad Williams all locks to make the roster, the likes of Dobson, Brittan Golden, Jeremy Ross and Marquis Bundy are left competing for one spot. As a former second-round pick, Dobson might draw interest elsewhere if he's released by the Cardinals this preseason, though he hasn't done anything of note since his rookie year.

Cardinals' Aaron Dobson: Tending to hamstring issue
Dobson is dealing with a hamstring injury, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Prior to Friday's practice, head coach Bruce Arians relayed info on the health of two wideouts, stating John Brown is poised to miss a "couple days" due to a quad injury, while Dobson will be "out longer." The Cardinals will likely keep six wideouts on the 53-man roster this season, five of which are held down by Fitzgerald, Brown, J.J. Nelson, Jaron Brown and rookie Chad Williams. Consequently, Dobson is likely vying with the likes of Brittan Golden and Jeremy Ross for one spot. Any significant absence hurts Dobson's cause.

Cardinals' Aaron Dobson: Signs future contract with Cards
The Cardinals signed Dobson to a reserve/future contract Thursday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports.
A second-round selection of the Patriots in 2013, Dobson's career has floundered, to say the least, as he was active just once this season (with the Lions in Week 4). Although he has 53 career catches, his last one occurred in Week 11 of the 2015 campaign. He'll be afforded an opportunity within a Cardinals receiving corps that is in some flux due the jettisoning of Michael Floyd and potential for Larry Fitzgerald to call it a career.

Aaron Dobson: Waived by Lions
Dobson was waived by the Lions on Saturday, Adam Caplan of ESPN reports.
Dobson had been a spectator in the Lions' offense as of late. The emergence of Marvin Jones made Dobson an expendable piece.

Lions' Aaron Dobson: Signs with Lions, again
Dobson signed with the Lions on Tuesday, Ben Volin of the Boston Globe reports.
The wideout signed with the Lions a week ago, but was let go by the team just a few days before Sunday's tilt with the Packers in order to make room for extra linebackers on the active roster. Look for him to play in a reserve role Sunday against the Bears as he competes with Andre Roberts for the No. 4 spot on the depth chart.
