David Amerson: Cut loose by Arizona
Amerson was released by the Cardinals on Thursday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports.
With 61 NFL starts to Amerson's name and the looming six-game suspension of starting cornerback Patrick Peterson, this move comes as a bit of a surprise. The 27-year-old nonetheless heads to the free-agent market on the heels of a 2018 campaign in which he accrued 21 tackles, two pass breakups and one pick in six games. Amerson should have a decent market for his services.

Cardinals' David Amerson: Sheds injury designation
Amerson (concussion) does not have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Rams, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
Amerson sustained a concussion during a Week 15 loss to the Falcons, but he's managed to clear the league-mandated concussion protocol in time to suit up versus the Rams. Expect the veteran cornerback to draw his usual start opposite Patrick Peterson (illness).

Cardinals' David Amerson: Evaluated for concussion
Amerson suffered a possible concussion in Sunday's game against the Falcons, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Amerson recorded one solo tackle before his injury forced Brandon Williams to play cornerback for the first time all season, according to Urban. Dontae Johnson, Quinten Rollins and Leonard Johnson would be candidates to fill in if Amerson misses time.

Cardinals' David Amerson: Signs with Cardinals
Amerson will sign a contract with the Cardinals, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Amerson signed a one-year deal with the Chiefs this offseason but failed to make the 53-man roster before the beginning of the regular season. The 26-year-old has logged previous stints with the Redskins and Raiders, recording 18 tackles and four passes defensed across six games in Oakland last season. For now, he'll be viewed as a depth option in Arizona's secondary.

Chiefs' David Amerson: Agrees to deal with Chiefs
Amerson (foot) agreed to a one-year contract with the Chiefs on Friday, Terez A. Paylor of The Kansas City Star reports.
Amerson was cut by the Raiders earlier in the month, which makes him eligible to sign before free agency officially commences. He will stay in the division by joining the Chiefs on a deal with escalating incentives. The 26-year-old was drafted in the second round by the Redskins in 2013, but he joined the Raiders in 2015 after being claimed off waivers. His 2017 season ended following a foot injury in Week 7. It remains to be seen what type of role he will have in Kansas City, but he will look to impress once offseason activities begin.

David Amerson: Cut by Oakland
Amerson (foot) was released by the Raiders on Monday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Amerson's release is likely linked to contractual stipulations. If the 26-year-old were still on the roster by this Wednesday, Oakland would have owed Amerson $5.5 million in guaranteed money. Despite a big role in 2016, Amerson appeared in just six games for the Raiders this past season and registered just 18 combined tackles. With a relatively strong resume in his back pocket, Amerson should find a new home once free agency hits.

Amerson (foot) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Chargers.

Amerson (foot) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Chargers.
Amerson was a limited participant in practice this week and has missed eight consecutive games with the foot injury. It seems unlikely the 26-year-old would make a return for a meaningless Week 17 game after not seeing game action for such an extended period.
