Parry signed with the Vikings' 53-man roster Tuesday, Craig Peters of Vikings.com reports.
Parry was originally waived by Minnesota on Sept. 19, but was signed back after the team placed rookie Mike Hughes (knee) on injured reserve Tuesday. The former Stanford standout has already played two games with Minnesota this season, accumulating two tackles (one solo) and one sack. Parry could face a tough competition for snaps, as Minnesota has a loaded depth chart at defensive tackle.

Parry was the odd man out on Minnesota's roster after the team signed veteran Tom Johnson earlier this week. Though Parry managed to log a sack on Aaron Rodgers in Week 2, the backup defensive tackle doesn't seem to have shown enough to stick with the team. Considering his experience as a starter, it shouldn't be difficult for Parry to latch on with another club in the future.

Parry is preparing for a backup role at defensive tackle, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Showing no signs of the ankle injury that landed him on injured reserve last September, Parry has appeared to be a good fit in Mike Zimmer's defense throughout the spring workout program. The veteran's backup status is no indictment of his talent playing behind Linval Joseph and Sheldon Richardson, though. After all, the veteran was a 16-game starter for the Colts in 2015 and 2016. Minnesota likely got him on a one-year, minimum-salary contract in 2018 because the defensive tackle is rehabbing his market value in the wake of a February 2017 arrest that drew Parry a four-game suspension last season. Parry has since satisfied said ban, and is good to go for the start of the upcoming campaign.

Vikings' David Parry: Reaches deal with Minnesota
Parry (ankle) agreed to a contract with the Vikings on Wednesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
While with the Saints last season, Parry landed on injured reserve due to an ankle issue after seeing the field for only three plays in 2017 and was then handed a four-game suspension in December. With the suspension having since concluded, Parry can turn his focus to recovering from the ankle injury and aiming to win a reserve spot along the Minnesota defensive line.

Parry's (ankle) was officially reinstated Monday after serving his four-game suspension.
Though he was still docked four paychecks stemming from a February arrest in Arizona, Parry didn't miss any actual games due to the suspension, as the Saints had already placed him on season-ending injured reserve due to the ankle issue. Parry, who will become a restricted free agent this offseason, is eligible to play at the start of the 2018 campaign.

Saints' David Parry: Receives four-game suspension
Parry (ankle) has received a four-game suspension for his February arrest when he was a member of the Colts, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.
Parry, who's currently on the Saints' injured reserve list, will have served the entirety of his four-game suspension by the end of the 2017 regular season as Rapoport also notes that Thursday's loss to the Falcons counts as one of the four games. This renders Parry's suspension essentially meaningless, as he's already unable to play in those contests due to his injury.

Parry suffered the injury in the Saints' Week 3 win over the Panthers, playing just three snaps in his season debut before departing. Since Parry wasn't a key part of the defensive-line rotation and was staring at a multi-week absence, the Saints decided it was optimal to free up a roster spot rather than waiting for the third-year player to heal up.

Parry strained a pectoral muscle late last season, but it doesn't look like a worry for the 2017 season. However, Parry may face a suspension under the NFL's personal conduct policy after he was charged with driving under the influence, criminal damage, auto theft, suspicion of robbery and resisting arrest in an incident in February in Scottsdale, Arizona. Parry pled guilty to one count of attempted unlawful means of transportation and one count of disorderly conduct. He still faces a DUI charge.

Colts' David Parry: Reaches plea deal
Parry (pectoral) has reached a plea agreement for a February arrest in which he was charged with one felony and one misdemeanor, Stephen Holder of The Indianapolis Star reports.
Parry pled guilty to one count of attempted unlawful means of transportation and one count of disorderly conduct, avoiding jail time in the process. Having said that, he's scheduled for sentencing May 31, when the terms of his probation will be determined. In addition to the aforementioned charges, he still faces a DUI charge in Scottsdale, Ari. City Court, potentially augmenting his legal woes. Once the process has played itself out, Parry will likely be subject to a fine and/or suspension under the NFL's personal conduct policy.

Colts' David Parry: Charged with multiple felonies
Parry (pectoral) has been charged with two felonies following a Feb. 25 arrest for allegedly stealing a means of transportation and resisting arrest with physical force in Scottsdale, Ariz., the Indianapolis Star reports.
In addition to the felony charges, Parry faces a misdemeanor assault charge due to the incident. A fifth-round pick in the 2015 draft, he's started all 32 contests over the last two seasons, notching four sacks among 78 tackles (49 solo).
