  • Trey Flowers: Let go by New England

The Patriots released Flowers (foot) from the reserve/PUP list Tuesday.

Flowers signed with the Patriots on a one-year deal on Aug. 8 after spending last season with Miami and the three previous campaigns with the Lions. He didn't have the chance to suit up in the regular season, and although he was designated for return from the reserve/PUP list on Oct. 5, he didn't seem to progress enough with his foot injury for the Patriots to keep him on the roster. If Flowers clears waivers, he'll look to catch onto another roster elsewhere.

  • Patriots' Trey Flowers: Returns to practice

Flowers (foot) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.

Flowers remains on the reserve-PUP list, which gives the Patriots a 21-day window to activate him to the team's active roster now that he's begun practicing, per Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston. The 30-year-old linebacker has appeared in 79 games throughout his eight-year career, recording 265 tackles, including 31.5 sacks.

  • Patriots' Trey Flowers: Shifts to reserve list

The Patriots placed Flowers (undisclosed) on the reserve/PUP list Tuesday.

Flowers will need to sit out at least the first four games of the season as a result of the transaction. A foot injury limited the veteran to four appearances with Miami last season.

  • Patriots' Trey Flowers: Moves to PUP list

Flowers (undisclosed) landed on the active/PUP list Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

The linebacker received the designation after signing with the Patriots earlier Tuesday. Flowers can return to the active roster at any time before Week 1. The two-time Super Bowl champion with New England suffered a foot injury in 2022 and played in just four games for the Dolphins.

  • Patriots' Trey Flowers: Returns to New England

Flowers signed a contract with the Patriots on Tuesday.

Flowers spent last season in Miami, only appearing in four games and spending the rest of the season on IR due to a foot injury. The 29-year-old had a tryout with New England on Monday and showed enough to earn the opportunity with the team with which he spent the first four seasons of his career. He'll now work to earn a spot on their 53-man roster.

  • Trey Flowers: Works out with Patriots

Flowers (foot) had a workout in New England on Monday, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.

Flowers only played in four games for the Dolphins in 2022 due to a season-ending foot injury. His workout with the Patriots indicates he has fully recovered from the issue. It is possible he could return to the same team he spent the first four seasons of his career with if he makes enough of an impression at the workout.
