  • Bears' T.J. Edwards: Likely done for season

Bears head coach Ben Johnson said after Saturday's 31-27 wild-card win over the Packers that Edwards sustained a fractured fibula during the contest, and the linebacker isn't expected to play again during Chicago's postseason run, Jason Lieser of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Edwards was carted off the field with an air cast on his leg after suffering the injury during the first half of Saturday's game. Considering the nature of the issue, it's no surprise that he'll almost certainly be unable to return to action no matter how far Chicago advances in the playoffs. With Noah Sewell (Achilles) landing on injured list in late December and also done for the campaign, the Bears will likely turn to D'Marco Jackson or Amen Ogbongbemiga to serve as their primary defensive signal-caller for the rest of the postseason.

  • Bears' T.J. Edwards: Won't return Saturday

Edwards (ankle) has been ruled out of Saturday's game against the Packers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. This news doesn't come as much surprise, as Edwards left the game on a cart with an air cast around his leg. His absence will leave a significant hole in the middle of Chicago's defense, particularly hurting it against the run.

  • Bears' T.J. Edwards: Suffers ankle injury

Edwards suffered an ankle injury during Saturday's wild-card round game against the Packers and is doubtful to return. Edwards banged his leg off a Packers wide receiver in accidental contact during the first half, and he was carted off the field with an air cast on his leg. While he's officially doubtful, it would be shocking to see him retake the field. This could conclude an injury-plagued season for Edwards, as he was able to suit up in only 11 total games.

  • Bears' Kyler Gordon: Returning to action

Gordon is active for Saturday's wild-card round game against the Packers. Gordon was able to play in only three regular-season games due to a groin injury. • Bears' Kyler Gordon: Activated off IR

The Bears activated Gordon (groin) off injured reserve Saturday. Gordon has been sidelined since Week 13 due to a groin injury but should have a chance to make his return during Saturday's wild-card matchup versus the Packers. While he's still listed as questionable, the 26-year-old should resume his role as one of the team's starting cornerbacks alongside Jaylon Johnson if he suits up against Green Bay.

Tryon-Shoyinka (concussion) is ruled out for Saturday's wild-card matchup against the Packers. Tryon-Shoyinka will miss a second consecutive game due to a concussion, and he has yet to resume practicing in any capacity. • Bears' Kyler Gordon: Questionable but still on IR

Gordon (groin) is listed as questionable for Saturday's wild-card game against the Packers. Gordon practiced without limitations Friday, suggesting he has a decent chance to return Saturday, though he would first have to be added back to the active roster from injured reserve. He was limited to three appearances in the regular season, having suited up in Weeks 6, 7 and 13. Gordon played at least 60 percent of Chicago's defensive snaps in all three of those games.

  • Bears' C.J. Gardner-Johnson: Ruled out for wild-card round

Gardner-Johnson (concussion) has been ruled out for Saturday's wild-card game against the Packers. Nick McCloud will likely work as Chicago's nickel cornerback in Gardner-Johnson's absence, frequently matching up with slot receiver Jayden Reed. Gardner-Johnson remains in concussion protocol, which he entered following Chicago's loss to the Lions in the regular-season finale.

  • Bears' Kyler Gordon: Limited in practice Wednesday

Gordon (groin) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice. Gordon remains on injured reserve, but his ability to log a practice in any capacity is a good sign for the cornerback's chances to suit up for Saturday's wild-card matchup with the Packers. The 26-year-old's season was derailed by injuries, and he only participated in three games, logging 117 defensive snaps for seven tackles (two solo). The return of Gordon could bolster the Bears' secondary as they head into a tough elimination game against a familiar opponent.

  • Bears' C.J. Gardner-Johnson: DNP Wednesday

Gardner-Johnson (concussion) did not participate in Wednesday's practice. Gardner-Johnson did not participate in Tuesday's walkthrough nor Wednesday's practice. The slot cornerback still seems to be experiencing symptoms of the concussion he sustained during last Sunday's loss to the Lions. If Gardner-Johnson cannot upgrade his practice participation Thursday, he will likely be ruled out of Saturday's playoff matchup with the Packers. Nick McCloud will likely start at slot cornerback if Gardner-Johnson cannot play.

His practice participation throughout the week will likely provide the best indication of his potential availability for this weekend.

  • Bears' C.J. Gardner-Johnson: In concussion protocol

Head coach Ben Johnson told reporters Monday that Gardner-Johnson entered the league's concussion protocol following Sunday's 19-16 loss to the Lions, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports. His placement in concussion protocol has Gardner-Johnson facing an uphill battle to play in Saturday's NFC wild-card game against the Packers. Even if he were to log full practices this week, he would be prohibited from playing unless he cleared the league's concussion protocol by passing an evaluation from an independent neurologist. If Gardner-Johnson is unable to suit up, then Tyrique Stevenson, Nick McCloud (illness) and Jaylon Jones would be in line for more snaps in the secondary.

Head coach Ben Johnson said Monday that "the hope" is to open the 21-day practice window for Gordon (groin) this week, Jason Lieser of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Gordon has missed the minimum four games required while on injured reserve, which makes him eligible to be activated from IR ahead of Saturday's NFC wild-card game against the Packers. The 2022 second-rounder appears to be in the final stage of his recovery from a groin injury, but he would need to be activated from IR in order to play for the Bears in the postseason.
